Help For Heroes

Over the years I have become increasingly aware of the conflict out in the Middle East. So many soldiers become seriously injured so frequently and there are so many lives lost at such young ages. These men and women deserve so much respect and gratitude and instead of just acknowledging that fact I wanted to try and give something back to them and their families.

My inspiration for writing a song about this came after a friend of mine brought my attention to the BBC documentary 'Wounded'; I watched Andy Allen's life changing journey unfold from being seriously injured by an I.E.D whilst in Afghanistan in 2008. I was overwhelmed by how much courage, strength and determination someone can have.

I wrote the song 'Don't Let Go' after seeing the documentary with my producer and we wanted to give it to 'Help for Heroes'’. We aim to raise awareness of Andy’s story to help others in similar situations.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Andy and gain his full support with the project so we are now working together on this and hope to help a lot of people.

The song is now available to buy from Itunes and all the proceeds will go to charity.

Help for Heroes
Support for our wounded

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.
